Sony wanted to build an eCommerce platform for its principal dealer, Modern Electronics, in Saudi Arabia, targeting the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets. Because the KSA and UAE are culturally different, they have different compliance issues compared to Europe and the US. Sony recommended a business-oriented eCommerce platform that serves B2C and B2B purposes simultaneously. Besides, Sigma Solve was tasked to develop a multilingual website to cater to a number of countries around KSA.

The Solution

Since Sony was focusing on large-scale sales through the B2B aspect, Sigma Solve adopted a stand-alone approach in developing an eCommerce web solution that showcase all major products for sub-dealers across the region.  For Sigma Solve, leveraged Magento 2 and built a headless architecture to help Modern Electronics manage their product listing and various loyalty and finance programs.

The Results

Sigma Solve achieved its main objective as soon as the new eCommerce website was launched – an exponential increase in Sony’s visibility in West Asia and a significant jump in sales. Sigma Solve built a website that is true to the rules and regulations of UAE and KSA and excellent for end users.
